    ADVERTISEMENT OF WORK OPPORTUNITIES FOR EXPANDED PUBLIC WORKS PROGRAMME [EPWP]
    POSITIONS IN THE DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH UP TO 31 MARCH 2025

    1.Applicants are hereby invited from suitable qualified candidates for work opportunities for Expanded Public Works Programme [EPWP] work opportunities up to 31 March 2025.

    2.Applications should be submitted on Z83 obtainable from any government institution and must be accompanied by certified copies of required qualifications, Identity document and comprehensive CV.

    3.Shortlisted candidates will be required to come for interview, at which time, certified copies of all relevant qualifications and a copy of ID must be submitted.
    4.Applicants should complete separate applications where more than one centre is applied for.

    5.The new Z83 form must be fully completed and signed by the applicant. The following must be considered in relation to the completion of the Z83 BY APPLICANTS: All details of Part A, Part C and Part D must be completed. In Part B, all fields should be completed in full except the following: South African applicants need not provide passport numbers. If an applicant responded “NO “to the question “Are you conducting business with the State or are you a Director of a Public or Private company conducting business with the state? If yes (Provide details then it is acceptable for an applicant to indicate not applicable or leave blank to the question,” In the event that you are employed in the Public Service, will you immediately relinquish such business interest?”. Applicants may leave the following question blank if they are not in possession of such: If your profession or occupation requires official registration, provide date and particulars of registration”. Noting there is limited space provided for Part E, F & G, applicants often indicate refer to Curriculum Vitae (CV) or see attached”, this is acceptable as long as the CV has been attached and provides the required information. If the information is not provided in the CV, the applicant may be disqualified. It must be noted that a cv is an extension of the application of employment Z83, and applicants are accountable for the information that is provided therein. The questions related to conditions that prevent re – appointment under Part F must be answered.

    6.Successful candidates will be expected to work eight [8] hours per day.

    The Expanded Public Works Programme (EPWP) has its origins in Growth and Development Summit (GDS) of 2003.

    At the Summit, four themes were adopted, one of which was ‘More jobs, better jobs, decent work for all’.

    The GDS agreed that public works programmes ‘can provide poverty and income relief through temporary work for the unemployed to carry out socially useful activities’.

    This Programme is a key government initiative, which contributes to Government Policy Priorities in terms of decent work & sustainable livelihoods, education, health; rural development; food security & land reform and the fight against crime & corruption.

    EPWP subscribes to outcome 4 which states “Decent employment through inclusive economic growth.”

    The EPWP has been established and mandated by Cabinet to create work opportunities according to the set targets and across all its four sectors, namely: —Infrastructure, Non-State, Environment & Culture, and Social sectors.

    One of the prescripts of the EPWP is to use labour-intensive methods which allow the drawing of a significant number of participants into the Programme to do the work.

    Responsibilities

    • Responsible for planning, coordinating the design, performing installation and connectivity of computer network systems & components to ensure the stable operation of the organisations ICT assets.
    • Perform all operational process according to relevant policies, processes and regulation of local government.
    • Perform operational process to ensure quality of worn work, minimize mistakes and continuously improve on quality and standards.
    • Comply with governance and risk management requirements to ensure compliance with all relevant legislation, policies, processes and resolutions and minimize risk.
    • Apply financial processes to ensure compliance with financial controls as contemplated in the MFMA.
    • Perform customer service orientation to meet customer expectations.

    Job Requirements

    • Diploma in Information Technology or relevant equivalent NQF Level 6 qualification
    • CCNA or CCIE Certification
    • 3 – 5 years’ experience in administering, supporting and controlling of networks, networking services and networks infrastructure
    • Knowledge of ITIL concepts including service management and service delivery and experience working within the ITIL framework for incident, problem, change or service request management
    • A valid driver’s license
